Dr. Bruce Parsons, Psy.D.

Dr. Parsons is a licensed clinical psychologist with over two decades of experience in assessment, mental health, and resilience training. A U.S. Air Force veteran and former firefighter/paramedic, he brings a unique perspective shaped by both service and clinical expertise.

Dr. Parsons specializes in psychological evaluations for security officers, law enforcement personnel, and first responders. In partnership with ASHER360, he provides pre-employment psychological evaluations designed to help schools and agencies make safer, more informed hiring decisions. His work emphasizes the critical role of validated tools—such as the MMPI-3 and other structured assessments—in identifying risk factors before they can adversely affect children or communities.

Beyond his evaluation practice, Dr. Parsons has authored multiple books and resources on trauma, resiliency, and rapid-response techniques. He continues to advocate for proactive measures that help schools, agencies, and families use psychology not only to heal but also to prevent harm.

A logo with a teal dove on the left, and the words "Violence Prevention Hotline" in bold black letters, with a heartbeat line underneath.

The National Violence Prevention Hotline offers free, confidential, expert support to anyone in distress who feels driven toward violence and for those who are worried about someone they know. Their trained team responds to calls and chats with compassion, listening without judgment, working to de-escalate crises, and guiding people toward a safer, brighter future.

They understand that violence often grows from deep pain, trauma, and other factors, not from inherent malice. They move away from asking “What’s wrong with you?” and instead say, “Help us understand what’s been happening and what you’re facing now,” opening the door to empathy, understanding, and lasting change.

Beyond answering calls, they are actively working to partner with community organizations to address the roots of violence. Through education, school programming, workshops, and other initiatives, they aim to build safer, healthier communities where violence can be prevented before it begins.
